HellCat
A downloadable game for Windows
Work in Progress Disclaimer
Keep in mind that you’re looking at an early build of the game - the visuals are still rough, and some mechanics aren’t fully polished yet. There might be small changes to the game design along the way, but the core of it is already in place.
Also, the build of the game currently attached to the page is outdated, a lot has changed for the better since then, but it's playable. As soon as a stable version of the game is ready, we will show it to you.
The infamous Feline Empire is losing the war.
During the massacre that befell Miuks, the imperial capital, caused by its foes, a mysterious energy called Nus poured into the Empress's body, and thus the new Goddess was born. The crippled Empress was granted a divine power that turned all her warriors immortal.
The small yet endless cat army was able to repel the attack, but in return, the Empress's state declined further, beyond what had been endured before. Beyond the veil of bloodshed and the birth of the Goddess unfolded a far greater event — the Gods of Nus had slipped into the realm of animals.
But perhaps during the journey, the faith and beliefs of the protagonist will be put to the test?
Will the scale of the war reach the point where the protagonist will have no choice but to challenge the Gods of Nus themselves?

- Top-down Rogue-like with City-building elements.
- Participate in the war by taking on the role of a member of the special forces of the Feline Empire - PFO ("Peace Feline Order"). Fight across the continent in different biomes against a variety of enemies from hostile nations.
- Liberate the settlements, rescue the settlers and lead these settlements to prosperity.
- Each nation has its own unique units and resources you can get only from this nation. Your main goal is to get these resources to become stronger and rebuild the empire.
Game pillars:
- Rogue-like - the genre, familiar to almost every gamer, in a new wrapper, combined with other game modes and with a great focus on the story, will give players the opportunity to discover the genre in a new way.
- Empire management - you’re not building your own town, you're rebuilding an empire here. Player responsibilities do not end with just setting a few mines and farms. As the empire grows, the player will have to deal with the logistics of resources between different cities securing liberated regions from the enemies.
- War System - the player's progress is determined by his success in many ways, which does not make it feel like the player's progress has stopped or that the player is doing something wrong, any choice is a step towards victory.
The Cool Stuff:
- Beautiful stylized graphics, inspired by toons for children and construction toys.
- Replayability - randomized maps and levels, multiple mission types, numerous enemies and modifiers. Every operation is not the same.
- War is diverse - choose from 2 main types of combat operations, each with its own maps and objectives. Attack enemy bases and capture them, and then build your own cities.
- Engaging combat system - use everything you need to succeed: guns, swords, magic and a lot more is at your disposal. But be careful, your enemies aren’t some weaklings, every nation has its unique tools to make you think twice before playing a hero. If you really want to win, you should master your tools and upgrade them.
- Revive the empire, conquer the regions captured by the enemies, build your cities and set up logistics between the liberated regions.
- Play mini-games in cities that are not at war, earn money and buy yourself some cosmetics or resources you need. Gambling can be profitable.

Worldbuilding:
- Welcome to New Pangaea, a war-torn continent. Six nations of different animal families with radically different ideologies stuck at a vicious cycle of war and hatred. The player will have to visit various territories captured by enemies, ranging from bug burrows to sublime futuristic cities of apes, meet unexpected opponents and allies and learn the secrets of an extinct ancient race that lived before the appearance of the first animals that learned to walk on two legs. And the closer the player gets to restoring the former glory of the Feline Empire, the greater the difficulties to overcome will be.
- The Empress's Will - a HUB, a flying aircraft carrier, and a mobile headquarters. The main place where the player will upgrade weapons and abilities, choose operations, improve the ship's modules and even play some board games.
- Miuks - the capital of the Feline Empire, its heart. In the capital, in addition to researches that opens new upgrades and modules for the HUB and unlocks new buildings, there is an opportunity to use mysterious artifacts of an ancient extinct race to improve the Empress's reviving abilities.
- The Mice Mink - a neutral city-state. It rise from several rodents who founded a black market, but now the player can buy here anything from contraband weapon blueprints to fancy new suits. And also for admirers, rodents are big fans of gamble.

Battles are won with steel,
wars - with intel
War System:
The player needs to monitor the progress of the war on different fronts with a special strategic map in the HUB and choose the mission to complete and its location, whether it's going out for certain resources, capturing an enemy base or completing an important story mission.
Fulfilling the needs of cities is crucial for the rebirth of the empire. To make the Empire's heart beat again, the player needs to make blood flow not only in the capital.
Later in the game, the player will be able to command cat divisions and send them on missions that don’t require the menacing presence of the main character. This new tactical option can significantly affect the course of the war if used correctly.
The player will complete missions in
different enemy territories. The more
successful the player is at war, the more
difficult and complex the game will be. Along
with the liberation of an increasing number of territories,
enemies will upgrade their weapons and get new
ways to resist cats, and therefore adaptation to new challenges will be essential.

There are two main operation types:
Sweep in - rogue-like mission with a set of random sequential small levels, mainly aimed at destroying enemy units.
Campaign - an open level mission where the player can either go and complete the main objective and immediately call for evacuation, or in addition to the main task, complete optional objectives, as well as rescue Rodents from their ruined settlements.
During missions, you’ll be supplied with disposable suit modules — some boost your weapons or armor, others completely change the way they work. Unfortunately, during wartime it’s hard to maintain production of high-quality consumables, so you’ll have to discard these modules once the mission is over.
Four different enemy nations: bugs, apes, dogs and reptiles. All of them have
unique combat units that behave on the battlefield in their own way, and unique
technologies - different weapons, their own buildings, and some can even launch combat machines, some of them don't even hesitate to use
the magic of Nus, that comes in many forms, from casual energy shots to necromancy.
Combat:
The combat system is based on 4
fundamental elements:
- Armor - your armor is equipped with a NKC (Nus Kinematic Converter) that allows it to accumulate energy during your encounters with your melee weapon. That allows you to recharge your range weapon and special equipment.
NKC diffuses damage you take, but this leads to overheating it systems, that's why you need to release some of the energy on enemy executions (to put it simply, you perform executions on enemies that depend on many conditions, including the type of enemy, its state and even what's around them right now, in order to get an additional supply of armor).
Also thanks to the Nus tech it allows you to use dash to evade enemy attacks and climb on small ledges to take strategical advantage. - Melee combat - multiple melee weapons (machete, hammer and other) with unique combos and unique special effects (bleed, shock and other). Use light and heavy attacks to truly dominate the battlefield.
- Range combat - multiple range weapons like pistols, SMGs, shotguns, rocket launchers and energy weapons. All this weapons can acquire up to 2 status effect modifiers during combat missions that you can switch between at any moment. Combining different status effects with your range and melee weapons will cause some interesting results (like burning enemy hit with a shock bullet can blow up and make other enemies around him burn).
- Special equipment - your ultimate abilities. Get inspired by the Standards of the Feline Empire on your back and enter berserker mode to show the superiority of the cat race, or show the inferno to your enemy with a circular Molotov release system backpack. Spray poisonous gas or degrade the consciousness of enemies with an explosion of Nus energy. War crimes never were this cut.

Empire management:
After achieving a certain level of war
influence in the region, the player will be
able to try to liberate the city captured by
the enemies. In case of failure, the player will
be able to try again as soon as the influence will
be regained. But if the player succeeds, the city
will need to be rebuilt and developed.
Every city has different resources and lands: one
city will be rich in minerals, but won’t have good
fertile land, while the other city will have wonderful
lands to cultivate, but will not have enough resources for construction. The player's goal is to establish resource extraction and logistics in such a way that the life and development of cities does not stop. Build logistics points, send
soldiers to guard supply routes and lead the Empire to prosperity.
Progression and upgrades:
- A consistent system of upgrades, where all the elements of the game are codependent and influence each other. All upgrades are purchased for certain resources:
- Researches require time and resources, depending on the type of research;
- Creation and improvement are discovered through research and require only resources;
- Buying something from the black market requires money;
- Strengthening the Empress requires a special resource, which can be obtained by completing a special mission.
- A large but not excessive number of types of resources allows to create an interesting, but arcade-like economic system. The resources in the game are divided into 4 main types:
- Racial resources are obtained from operations or by cat divisions;
- Production resources are extracted in cities in production buildings;
- Money can be get from mini-games, resources sales or from operations;
- Special resources are obtained through unique missions available after the liberation of the city.
